My apolgies for the long layoff. The Special Ed. side of my job has been taking up a lot of my time here at school and with holidays and end of the semester I haven't had any time to update the blog.
We are studying Ancient Egypt right now. In fact, I hope to give the test on Tuesday of next week and be starting on Greece by the end of next week. Egypt has been a blast and the kids are really into it. We watched the fantastic "Egypt: Engineering an Empire" and have been doing lots of book work and packets in this unit. The test will written "essay" form. The students will get the questions in advance and have a chance to practice with their groups before writing their answers. I am excited to see what they write about. The questions will be on Egyptian Geography, Egyptian Gods and Goddesses, Akenaten's attempt to turn Egypt into a Monotheist religion, and the differences and similarities between tombs of the old kingdom and the new. Let me know if you have questions and I will try to get back to weekly updates.
