It is time to design cities. Mesopotamia had the worlds first cities built around the farmland in the Fertile Creasant and the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers. The students will need to design their own cities that would fit into this area. I want the students to balance fun and creativity with authentic features of ancient cities. EVERYTHING SHOULD BE MESOPOTAMIAN OR MESOPOTAMIAN INSPIRED! I told them I am not looking for Bob's city with McDonalds, or Sci-Fi cities with spaceports. They will need to do some research to find out what was really in a city at that time. This project can be done in a group or individually. The rubrics are attached to assignment expectations below. I have never done this project before so I am excited to see what they come up with! Let me know if you have any questions.

We are still working our way through Mesopotamia. We will be finishing the unit next week with a project where the students will be designing their own cities. They will need to demonstrate a good understanding of division of labor in the brave new word that surrounded the Agricultural Revolution in the Ancient Near East. This week we will finish more book work as well as a short video. We also need to do a test on the geography of region.
