We are starting our new unit on Ancient Egypt today. We covered some overall history and did a timeline in our composition books today. The rest of the week we will be watching the documentary Egypt: Engineering an Empire. This will give the students a nice visual overview of Egypt and it's a fascinating watch showing off many aspects of life during Egypt's history. There will be a simple worksheet with the video so that the students have incentive to follow along.

We are finishing up Christianity with our short video today as well as correcting our textbook assignments that were due this morning. Having some great discussions on Christianity and a bit on Islam already in classes.
We will start reading about Islam later this week with a similar pattern of reading, questions, and a short video. Because of the geography B, 1st period is about a day behind 4th and 5th period. So first period hasn't been assigned questions just yet as we not quite done with the reading. We have just a short video to finish up this week and we will have completed out study of Judaism. That will probably have to wait until Wednesday because each class needs to have a representative for the Geography Bee taking place on Friday. We will spend Monday and Tuesday doing a class geography competition in order to have a representative for Friday's school wide competition. After we complete that we will finish up the video and start reading and discussing Christianity. Not any homework this week. Look for a book assignment next week on Christianity before we move onto Islam.
